![]() Remember in the GTA games, particularly Vice City Stories, but I remember it popping up elsewhere - how there was this running joke about dialectical materialism? Characters would just randomly namedrop dialectical materialism out of context? Here's an example of the problem scaled up. Bringing their creativity, passion, obscure interests, etc. But it's also the kind of work that might get given to junior writers. So you're using AI to generate placeholder NPC barks. One of the problems I have with this is that it's truncating the talent pipeline. Hopefully that's not the case, but unfortunately it is the reality for many companies. Point being, if those in charge have that mindset, any actual improvements are quickly negated by increased demand. You'd think that would be great right, improve turn-around times and all that? Nope, because management just saw more empty space and filled it, leading us right back to the original issue. One place I worked at we spent a lot of time organizing a lot to better store and access materials as it was a huge pain having to move 3 pallets to access something every time. As I've experienced at other industries, certain improvements like that doesn't mean we magically would start caring. ![]() Unfortunately I think for some companies it really comes down to decisions and the focus on profit. ![]() Will be interesting seeing how different industries handle a lot of menial stuff essentially being automated and just needing a double-check in the near future. ![]() ![]() Was going to say, I'd imagine there won't be much of a difference, possibly even improvements if it allows the talented individuals to focus more on essential/big impact stuff. ![]()
